I have created a fitness concept that combines resistance training and dance all within one platform in order to improve strength, endurance, co-ordination mobility and flexibility in one method. Essentially my background is in dance and in my years of training I realised that the culmination of the two were important as they complimented each other.
When I became an Online Coach I quickly realised that there is a divide with the practices, that people who do strength training are in one category and dancers, yogis, and HIIT fanatics are in their own categories. I quickly saw that there is a gap for a programme that combines the practice of resistance training and dance. I have seen it with my own eyes that people benefit from the two practices and decided to bring out a method that combines the two universes.
I created Built Like a Dancer as a method that brings tailored coaching to you online to suit your needs individual needs. I have become stronger than ever and move in my body the most efficient way I know how through my strength training.
All of the cardio that is done within Built Like a Dancer is done through through heels, commercial, lyrical and flex. I have been teaching dance and fitness for years now and I have helped hundreds of people become better version of themselves while enjoying every step of the journey.
Built like a Dancer encourages people to acquire new skills whilst training; to have fun rather than focus on punishing routines.
My name is Rita Mc Donnell I am an online coach, personal trainer and professional dancer. I spent 8 years working as a dancer and dance instructor in London. This then led me to pursue a fitness career because I realised that resistance training did so much for my body and mind during my years as a dancer. I fell in love with it, it made me resilient and made me realise that with resistance training I achieved the look I wanted and it allowed me a lot more food freedom than other forms of training.
My main focus is now training women who are looking to make resistance training their main source of fitness. Lifting weights is the best kind of training to give yourself the best health, body, and the easiest kind of training you could do to make it a lifestyle. Dancing has always been my favorite form of cardio, good for brain health by challenging your memory, good for co-ordination, mobility, flexibility and great fun and a chance to express yourself. This is why I created Built like Dancer, a platform to be able to offer everything you need to a well rounded approach to fitness.
